Malcolm J. Walker: A Dedicated Educator and Community Leader. Malcolm J. Walker’s life is a testament to the power of education and community service. He was born in Shepherd, a rural community in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Malcolm grew up in an environment that em- phasized the importance of education. He attended historically black public schools during a time of racial segregation and earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in History from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Malcom’s interest in writing and public speaking began in high school. He delivered speeches in churches and at civic meetings, and his interest in teaching and learning let him to a career as an Educator, in addition to serving for 10 years as a classroom teacher, Malcolm worked as the coordinator of a motivational program known as PUSH FOR EXCELLENCE, a program that was founded by Rev. Jesse Jackson. He also served as a high school vice-principal and the Director of Career Ladder and Diversity, and enrichment for educator. Malcolm’s serious writ- ing journey began when he was elected President of the Student Council at his High School. He wrote and presented a fifteen-minute “Chapel Talk” as part of his graduation require- ments, marking the start of his commitment to writing.

Although he has not published other works, Malcolm’s contributions to education and com- munity service are significant. He draws inspiration from African American writings, which in- fluence his perspectives. In his spare time, Malcolm enjoys bowling and is actively involved in his community. As President of the Shepherd Community Action Council, he organizes beauti- fication projects, plan community trips, and other activities that provide exposure and enter- tainment for his community resident. His dedication to his neighborhood is obvious.

Malcolm J. Walker’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and a commitment to uplifting others through education and community involvement. His life’s work continues to inspire and impact others.
